Idaho Falls ID to Jackson Hole WY
June 30, 2009
This being day 28th of our trip west finds us up at 6:00 AM, it’s 64 degrees and sunny. Most of this trip has brought very warm days, but welcome cool nights. To date no A/C at night. We left for Jackson, Wyoming at 8:30 am, arriving at our campsite around 11:40 am.. As we drove north, the rolling green hills, pastures, and the awesome Snake River created a “diamond in the rough” after seeing many miles of dry, desolate land. The beautiful ranches and livestock feeding close to the highways left a feeling of “wish we lived here”! After a brief setup and rest, we rode with Gene and Phyl into Jackson. This quaint town is of the old west theme, enhanced by huge baskets of blooming plants, wooden sidewalks, and a pristine park in the center of all. Sparkling, snow capped mountains framed this picturesque town. After visiting a few shops, we took some pictures, sat briefly in the park and headed back to camp. We had dinner, enjoyed a cooling thunderstorm, and reflected upon this great land that the Lord has given to us. We continue to praise and thank Him for a safe and exciting journey. We remember and miss our family back home as we thank Jesus for keeping them safe and well.
