LA / Hollywood

June 10, 2009
Awoke at 6:00 am,it is 61 degrees with a heavy mist falling. Had breakfast and waited in camp until 10:30 am when the mist cleared and the sun broke through. From our Pomona,Ca KOA site we rode the 40 miles to Los Angeles entering into the city via Arrow Highway, and rode several miles along endless shops, restaurants, etc. A very oppressed area with many Nomads, homeless, and vagabonds. We felt a little uneasy while stopped at traffic lights surrounded by these unkempt characters. Once into the city we were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful streets and skyscrapers. Riding into Hollywood we enjoyed the Hollywood "Walk of Fame" sidewalk, and stopping at the infamous Hollywood and Vine Streets intersect. Having enjoyed this interesting city, we headed back to camp via the Hollywood and San Bernardino Freeways. Traffic filled all lanes traveling at breakneck speeds. At times our speedometer registered speeds we try not to acquire! Had to keep up or be run over!
All in all, it was a very exciting tour and fast paced day. We arrived back at camp around 6:00 pm.
Thanks be to the Lord for keeping us safe.
